Apple, on Wednesday, overtook Microsoft as world’s most valuable technology company due to persistent run-up in Apple shares and dwindling value of Microsoft stock.

“We are in right areas and we are executing very well and that is going to lead to great products and great success… It is a long game, we have good competitors and we too are a very good competitor,” Microsoft Corp Chief Executive Steve Ballmer told reporters here. 
Further, Microsoft India, said IT firms NIIT, Cognizant and CDC Software, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will build solutions and train manpower based on its cloud computing platform, Windows Azure.

Microsoft has partnered with IT training firm NIIT, which will train over one lakh students on Windows Azure over next three years. IT firm Cognizant, will develop solutions based on Azure to help its clients implement, migrate and manage their applications on cloud. Over 4,000 applications have already been built on the Windows Azure platform by India. IISc Bangalore, is building large-scale application on Windows Azure for its research studies.
