Rishad joined the New York Stock Exchange-listed company as Business Manager in 2007 and was promoted to become General Manager two years later.
Early this year, he was appointed as Chief Strategy Officer, and now has been promoted to the post of Vice-President, company sources said.
Rishad, widely seen as heir apparent to his father and company Chairman Azim Premji, is among at least six middle managers who have been promoted from the rank of General Managers recently, sources said.
Wipro declined to comment on the internal promotions. "We don't comment on market rumours", a company spokesperson said.
