SAP India on Thursday launched the Gerhard Oswald Innovation Space in Bengaluru with a total investment of €50 million, as part of its effort to ramp up innovation.
Interacting with media, Managing Director SAP Labs India and Executive Vice President Enterprise Cloud Services Dilipkumar Khandelwal said Gerhard Oswald Innovation Space will create work environment that promotes free-thinking, seeds bold ideas and creates opportunities for strong collaboration.
“We are giving primacy to foster innovation. We have incorporated elements of both work and play in this facility,” he said.
Can house 2,500 staff
The facility, within the SAP Labs India campus, is spread across 5.15 lakh sq feet, and can accommodate over 2,500 of SAP Labs India’s employees.
SAP India also announced that a new batch of 16 startups will join the SAP Startup Studio accelerator programme.
The SAP Startup Studio, which was launched in June 2016 with a 75-seater incubator facility, will be expanded to 100 seats by the end of 2017.
The second year batch of 16 startups are working on technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud, machine learning and IoT across various business functions.
