According to the study, cyber criminals are increasingly focusing their efforts on high-end crime and the period has seen continued growth in both the volume and sophistication of attacks.

As per the report, India experienced a surge in malicious activity. In malicious activity the country moved from its 11th position in 2008 to fifth position in 2009. India also accounted for 15 per cent of the malicious activity in the Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region.  Further the report said, India saw an average of 788 bots per day during 2009.
