Titan Company on Tuesday announced the diversicification fthe company into another segment of accessories- helmets after the launch of its perfunes in September and the earlier repositioning of the company as a lifestyle brand.
Priced between Rs 1,495-3,495, Fastrack helmets have 24 variants for men and women riders.
Titan Company Ltd MD Bhaskar Bhat said that India has one of the highest number of 2-wheelers in the world. “With unorganised players currently driving the helmet business, the category has a large potential in the market.”
According to him, the organised helmet market is estimated at approximately Rs 400 crore, accounting for 45 per cent of the retail market.
Fastrack as a brand has been quite popular since its inception. The brand had revenues of Rs 30 crore in 1998, which increased manifold to Rs 770 crore at present.
The Fastrack helmets would be manufactured by AGV, an Italian motorcycle helmet firm in its India facility. It plans to take its Fastrack retail footprint (number of stores) from 147 at present to 200 by the end of this financial year.
