Turkish president to India, Bangladesh for trade talks

Accompanied by a large delegation of ministers and businessmen, Gul will first fly to India where he will meet his Indian counterpart Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other officials before presiding over a businessmen's meeting.

"India is the third largest economy in the world by GDP and it is planning to spend USD 600 billion (438 billion euros) in the medium term on infrastructure projects," Gul said before his departure.

"It is very important to take businessmen to such a country... We have great potential in economic cooperation," he added.
Gul will fly into Bangladesh on Friday for talks with President Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other leaders. He will also attend a business forum before returning home on Saturday.
