New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Railways V Somanna on Saturday said that the railways’ network in Karnataka got Rs 7,564 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal budget. For the 2024-25 fiscal, the state got Rs 7,559 crore.
Somanna said if the state government expedited the long-pending land acquisition, the railways would be ready to spend more money in the state.
Several railway projects languished in the state mainly due to delays in land acquisition and delays in releasing money by the state government as per its cost-sharing agreement with the Railway Board, he said.
Details of fund allocation For the construction of new lines: Gadag-Wadi: Rs 549 crore, Tumakuru-Chitradurga-Davangere: Rs 549 crore, Rayadurga-Tumakuru via Kalyanadurga: Rs 434 crore, Bagalkot-Kudachi: Rs 428 crore, Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur: Rs 64 crore, Dharwad-Belgavi: Rs 8 crore and Hubballi-Ankola: Rs 4 crore.
For doubling of lines: Hosapete-Vasco De Gama via Hubballi : Rs: 413 crore, Hotgi-Kudgi-Gadag: Rs 401 crore, Pune-Miraj-Londa: Rs 312 crore, Baiyapppanahali-Hosur: Rs 223 crore, Yeshwantpur-Channasandra: Rs 178 crore, Toranagallu-Ranjithpura: Rs 104 crore and Whitefield-Bengaluru City-Krishnarajapuram quadrupling: Rs 357 crore allocated.
