In a proud update for the country, the noted American MNC and tech giant Apple, has appointed Sabih Khan, an Indian-origin man as its chief operating officer (COO). This update came days after Chinese workers were sent back home and amidst the craze about upcoming iphone17.
Who is Sabih Khan?
Sabih Khan, Apple's present Senior Vice President of Operations, will step into his new role later this month.
Khan is of Indian origin, as he hails from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
He was born in 1966, soon after which he moved to Singapore, where he did his schooling before studying further in the US.
The UP-born tech enthusiast and now COO of Apple has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, followed by a master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Before joining Apple in 1995, Sabih was associated with a Cupertino-based company, GE Plastics, where he served as an applications development engineer and key account technical leader.
Apple's official website notes him as in charge of Apple’s global supply chain. "He has played an important role in delivering each of Apple’s innovative products to market," the page further describes.
Khan has been with Apple for 30 years, and will now be taking over from Jeff Williams.
