On the first day of trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange, shares of the media and entertainment firm opened 21.91 per cent higher at Rs 213.35.
In a similar fashion, shares of Eros International opened at Rs 205.45 on the National Stock Exchange, up 17.4 per cent over the issue price.
Eros had fixed the issue price of shares under its initial public offer (IPO) at Rs 175 apiece, the higher end of the price band of Rs 158-175 a share.
The Mumbai-based company, which is promoted by Eros International Plc and Eros Worldwide FZ LLC, has raised Rs 350 crore through the IPO.
The issue of Eros International Media garnered a robust response from investors and was oversubscribed 25.76 times.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose much-awaited film 'RA-1', is being released under the Eros banner, was also present at the listing ceremony along with the company's promoters, Kishore and Sunil Lulla.
