The Chancellor’s Recognition Scholarships come with admission directly into the prestigious IUPUI Honors College and will be offered to high school seniors who have consistently earned first class grades, minimum combined SAT I Math and Critical Reading test scores of 1250, and who qualify for admission to IUPUI no later than February 1, 2012. Already four students from Maharashtra State have been offered these prestigious scholarships for Fall 2011.
The IUPUI Honors College occupies newly designed facilities within the University Library, including an exclusive computer lab and study areas for student members of the college. In the IUPUI Honors College, exceptional undergraduate students enjoy a dynamic academic experience within the university’s urban research environment. Students of the college have special opportunities to link to world-class faculty engaged in cutting edge and translational research, and earn an Honors notation on their degree upon graduation. Through the Honors Professional Admission Program, accomplished high school seniors may be considered for provisional admission to selected graduate and professional education at IUPUI. The estimated value of financial aid offered to new graduate students from India annually exceeds USD$500,000. *Energy Engineering: IUPUI is one of a handful of schools across the United States to offer a Bachelor’s of Science in Energy Engineering. This Purdue University degree prepares students for careers in this rapidly-expanding industry.
*Motorsports Engineering: IUPUI is the first university in the United States to offer a Bachelor’s degree in Motorsports Engineering — also a Purdue University engineering degree. The motorsports industry has been growing at a rapid pace. The programme has been active for only two years, and students are already getting recognition for their contributions.
*Other outstanding programmes of the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI with exceptional career prospects are in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s in Motorsports Engineering is also expected to be launched next year.
*Informatics: The Indiana University School of Informatics is a prime example of research opportunities through collaboration with the Indiana University School of Medicine, which generates 75% of IUPUI’s external research funding. Informatics faculty are engaged in major research projects with the School of Medicine providing unique opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students to engage in cutting-edge hands-on research.
