The Election Commission on November 10 declared the winner of Simri Bakhtiarpur Assembly Constituency (AC No 76) in Saharsa district which went to polls on November 07, 2020. Yusuf Salahuddin of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the Simri Bakhtiarpur seat beating Vikassheel Insaan Party candidate Mukesh Sahani by a margin of 1759 votes.
In Bihar Assembly Election 2015, JD(U) candidate Dinesh Chandra Yadav won Simri Bakhtiarpur constituency seat with a margin of 22.9% securing 78514 votes against LJSP candidate Yusuf Salahuddin.
