Action against bogus voters in Kerala

Action will be initiated against ten more voters in Kerala who were involved in bogus voting as well as three polling officials, including a presiding officer, who were found to have committed serious lapses.

A total of 20 bogus voting cases were reported in Kerala so far.

Kerala chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena said that ten voters in Kannur district were found to have cast bogus votes. Six of them even admitted to the crime. Criminal cases would be initiated against all.

Disciplinary action would be initiated against the polling officials who were found to have committed the lapses.

One case of bogus voting was reported from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's constituency, Dharmadam in Kannur.
