Bihar Assembly Election Result 2025 | Here's how key candidates from BJP, JD(U), RJD and Congress performedAmong the veterans and a few key fresh face, there were a some results on expected lines, there were a few surprises.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is headed towards a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly election 2025, leading in about 200 of the 243 seats.

With the massive win, Nitish Kumar is expected to become the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time.

While there were a some results on expected lines, there were a few surprises.

Tejashwi Yadav 

The Chief Ministerial candidate for the Mahaghatbandhan and the son of RJD chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav, faced see-saw battle against BJP's Satish Kumar but eventually won by over 13,000 votes.

Tej Pratap Yadav 

The estranged son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejaswhi Yadav's brother contested the election from the Mahua constituency after forming his own party, Janshakti Janata Dal. He faced a massive defeat to Lok Janshakti Party's Sanjay Kumar Singh.

Maithili Thakur

The folk singer-turned politician was one of the youngest candidates contesting from the Alinagar seat secured a convincing win by over 11,000 votes RJD veteran Binod Mishra. With the win, she is set to become the youngest-ever Bihar MLA at 25 years.

Samrat Chaudhary 

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister contesting from the Tarapur constituency defeated his rival Arun Kumar of RJD by 45,000 votes.

Anant Kumar Singh

Contesting on a JD(U) ticket in the Mokama constituency, Anant Kumar Singh was elected to the Assembly with a win by more than 28,000 votes against RJD's Veena Devi.

He is one of the most controversial leaders of Bihar with multiple charges against him. He has also faced jail time in the past, which has seemingly not affected his popularity.

Osama Shahab

RJD's Osama Shahab is the son of 'Bahubali' Shahbuddin, a gangster-turned politician. He won by against JD(U)'s Vikash Kumar Singh. This is the first Assembly election since the death of Mohammad Shahabuddin, who was convicted in multiple cases, including a double murder.

He died in 2021 due to Covid-19-related complications. After serving four terms as an MP, Shahabuddin was disqualified from contesting elections owing to his conviction in a criminal case. Even then, his name was always associated with Siwan.

Vijay Kumar Chaudhary 

Vijay Kumar Chaudhary contested from Sarairanjan constituency with a BJP ticket and won by over 20,000 votes against RJD's Arbind Kumar Sahani. The veteran leader has served as an MLA since 1982 and is set for another term.

Nitin Nabin 

Nitin Nabin is a four-time MLA from Bankipur and has now clinched yet another term with a win of over 50,000 votes against RJD's Rekha Kumari. He served as the Minister for Road Construction in the outgoing term.

Prem Kumar 

Contesting the Gaya constituency, BJP's Prem Kumar registered a convincing win by over 26,000 votes against Congress' Akhauri Nath. Kumar, who has been the sitting MLA from Gaya Town since 1990. The veteran leader served as Bihar's Minister of Co-operative Department in the previous term.

Leshi Singh

The veteran JD(U) leader and minister eased to a win by over 55,000 votes. Damdaha has been her stronghold from 2000, with several terms from the constituency.

Khesarilal Yadav 

RJD's Khesari Lal Yadav saw an intense battle against BJP's Chhoti Kumari in the Chapra constituency. However, he lost by a narrow margin of 8,000 votes.

Vijay Sinha

Deputy CM and BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Sinha was leading comfortably by about 26,000 votes in the Lakhisarai constituency against Congress' Amaresh Kumar.

Shakeel Ahmad Khan 

Former leader of Congress Legislative Party Shakeel Ahmad Khan, who contested election from a Congress ticket but resigned from the party two days ago, suffered a defeat by over 18,000 votes to JD(U)'s Dalul Chandra Goswami from the Kadwa constituency. He resigned saying he was unhappy with the state unit. "Kindly recall my letter dated April 16, 2023, in which I had informed the party that I would never contest any election in the future," he wrote.

Shreyasi Singh

BJP's Shreyasi Singh is a Commonwealth gold medalist in shooting. Singh secured the Jamui constituency for the second time after being elected from the Jamui constituency. Singh cruised to a massive win by over 50,000 votes against RJD's Mohammad Shamsad Alam.
