The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), last week, came out with its third list of 18 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, bringing the total count of declared candidates to 101.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance had earlier finalised its seat-sharing formula for the Bihar elections — with the BJP and JD(U) contesting 101 seats each, and Chirag Paswan’s LJP(RV) allotted 29 seats.

The party is fielding singer Maithili Thakur from Alinagar seat and former IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar.

Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will be contesting from Tarapur and Lakhisarai seats, respectively.

The elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The counting of votes will take place on November 14.
