Janshakti Janta Dal leader and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's elder son Tej Pratap was in the third slot in the Mahua seat as LJP(RV)'s Sanjay Kumar Singh won the seat after garnering over 87,000 votes, according to the Election Commission website.
Tej Pratap Yadav had recently created his own political party after being expelled from the RJD by his father. He got 35,703 votes making him the second runner-up after RJD's Mukesh Kumar Raushan.
AIMIM's Amit Kumar gained 15,783 votes and occupied the fourth spot after 27 rounds of counting.
Tej Pratap was expelled from the RJD on May 25 for six years, a day after he reportedly confessed to being 'in a relationship' with a woman.
He, however, deleted the social media post later claiming that his page was "hacked". Lalu Prasad also disowned Tej Pratap due to his "irresponsible behaviour".
The National Democratic Alliance, with BJP and Nitish Kumar's JD (U) as the main constituents, is set to cross the 200 mark in the 243-member Bihar assembly, voting for which took place on November 6 and 11.
