All is not well in the Yadav family, with four more daughters of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav leaving Patna a day after Rohini Acharya announced the decision to quit politics and cut ties with the family.
RDJ chief's three more daughters, Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav, and Raj Lakshmi Yadav, were reportedly seen leaving for Delhi from the Patna airport on Sunday. A few hours later, another daughter, Hema Yadav, was seen arriving at the Delhi airport.
Another video by PTI showed Ragini, Chanda, and Raj Lakshmi arriving at RJD leader Misa Bharti's residence late on Sunday.
As the family feud blew up and became public on Sunday, Rohini Acharya detailed the events that followed after Mahagatbandhan's crushing defeat in the Bihar elections.
However, she said that she had the blessings of her parents, Lalu and Rabri Devi.
Acharya, who has been vocal on social media, said she had not "lied about any of the events" that occurred during the family dispute, adding that her father has consistently supported her.
“Whatever I had to say, I have said on my social media. I have not lied about anything that happened. Rohini jo bolti hai sach bolti hai (Whatever Rohini says is the truth). You may go and ask all of this to Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Rachel Yadav, and Rameez," Rohini told the media.
“My father has always been by my side. My parents and my sisters were crying for me yesterday. I am blessed to have parents like them," she said.
“I feel fortunate to have parents like mine. In a family, why is it that only daughters are expected to make sacrifices, especially when there are brothers? When questions were asked of the brothers, they told me to go to my in-laws’ house. As a result, I have decided to disown my brother," she added.
The former RJD leader further said she was headed to Mumbai to live with her mother-in-law.
Earlier on Sunday, Rohini had sparked a massive controversy with her posts on social media, claiming she was abused and made felt worthless.
In an emotional post on X, Rohini claimed that she was “humiliated," “abused," and was even threatened of being hit with a slipper.
“Yesterday, a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was humiliated, abuses were hurled, shoes were raised to kill her. I didn’t compromise on my self-respect, didn’t give up on truth. Just because of this, I had to face insults," Rohini mentioned in an X post.
“Yesterday, a daughter left her crying parents and siblings due to helplessness. She was forced to leave her parental home, she was made an orphan, I pray that none of you ever have to walk my path, and no house should have a daughter-sister like Rohini," she wrote.
Acharya further claimed that Tejashwi Yadav and his close aide, Sanjay Yadav, had "thrown" her out of the family after she quit politics.
She alleged that she was “disgraced, abused, and even hit" when she questioned Sanjay Yadav about the party’s defeat.
“I have no family. You can go and ask this to Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who threw me out of the family," Rohini Acharya told the media following the posts on X.
Tej Pratap's support to Rohini
Joining the feud, estranged son Tej Pratap Yadav came in support of his sister Rohini.
"I tolerated what happened to me. But the insult inflicted on my sister is unbearable under any circumstance," Tej Pratap said in a post on Instragram, referring to his ouster from the family and party by his father.
"Ever since I heard the news of slippers being raised at my sister Rohini, the pain in my heart has turned into fire. When the sentiments of the public are hurt, the dust on the intellect is blown away. These few faces have clouded Tejaswi's intellect as well," he added.
He warned of dire consequences and sought permission from his father to allow him to save the dignity of the family.
"The consequences of this injustice will be extremely dire. The reckoning of time is very harsh. I request the honorable RJD National President and my father, my political guru, Shri Lalu Prasad Ji—Father, give me a signal... just one nod, and the people of Bihar will bury these Jaichands themselves. This fight is not about any party—it is about the honor of a family, the dignity of a daughter, and the self-respect of Bihar," he said.
In the Bihar Assembly elections, the RJD secured just 25 seats despite contesting on more than 140 seats in the 243-member state assembly.
