“Rahul Gandhi is engaging in cover firing.. he knows that the Congress is going to be wiped out in the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections,” Fadnavis said in Nagpur. “The claims are baseless and are part of the fake narrative,” he added.

The Congress and its allies Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP) on Friday alleged irregularities in the voter list of Maharashtra, claiming a total of 39 lakh electors were added between Lok Sabha and assembly elections, held 6 months apart in 2024, in the state.

“When the same joke is told over and over again, people do not laugh at it,” Fadnavis said, dismissing the press conference in New Delhi addressed by Gandhi along with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut and NCP (SP) Working President Supriya Sule.

“The Election Commission has categorically replied to all the questions… if Rahul Gandhi does not introspect and continue to console himself with lies, his party's revival isn't possible. Rahul Gandhi should introspect his defeat," he said.

Results of the assembly polls in Delhi, where voting took place on February 5, will be declared on February 8 (Saturday).

Delhi Assembly Election 2025 | The first of two state assembly polls this year sees a three-way contest between AAP, Congress, and BJP in the nation's capital. AAP decided to contest the polls alone, causing rumours of a rift in I.N.D.I.A. BJP, meanwhile, is hoping the liquor excise policy scam and pollution in Delhi will give the saffron party an edge over AAP. Kejriwal, on the other hand, has different plans with his demand for reservations for Delhi Jats. Congress will also be looking to make its presence felt and has not held back from attacking its own alliance partner.
