Harish Khurana of BJP won the Moti Nagar constituency, defeating Shivcharan Goel of AAP by 11657 votes in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025.

The Moti Nagar constituency is one of the 70 Assembly constituencies in the national capital which went to the polls.

The Assembly elections in Delhi is the first of the two Assembly elections slated to be held this year, with Bihar going to polls in the latter half of 2025.

The electoral battle in Delhi this time saw a three-way contest between the BJP, the AAP, and the Congress, despite the latter two being part of the Opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc at the national level.

Delhi has an electorate of 1.5 crore, with 83.49 lakh male voters and 71.73 lakh female voters. Third gender voters, meanwhile, stand at 1,261, as per the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi.

As far as constituencies go, Vikas Puri is the largest in terms of electorate, with 4.62 lakh voters, while the Delhi Cantonment constituency is the smallest, with 78,893 voters.

For this year's Assembly elections, 13,033 polling stations were set up at 2,697 locations across the national capital.

Constituency number 25, the Moti Nagar seat in the national capital is located in the Central Delhi district. The seat is unreserved.

Polling and counting date:

Voting for the Assembly elections in Delhi took place in a single phase, with polling scheduled for February 5. Counting of votes, meanwhile, took place three days later, on February 8.

What happened in the 2020 Assembly elections?

In the 2020 Assembly elections in Delhi, the AAP swept the polls, capturing over 53 per cent of votes and 62 of 70 seats in the national capital. The BJP-led NDA, meanwhile, managed to win eight seats, all of which went to the saffron party. The Congress, on the other hand, failed to open its account, losing in all 66 seats it contested.

A total of 112047 votes were cast in the Moti Nagar constituency during the Delhi Assembly elections in 2020. Shiv Charan Goel of AAP won the seat, with a margin of 14072 votes.

What happened in the 2015 Assembly elections?

The 2015 Assembly elections in Delhi also saw the AAP sweep the polls, with the Arvind Kejriwal-led party securing 67 of 70 seats in the national capital. The BJP managed to win three seats, while the Congress failed to open its account despite contesting all 70 seats.

In the 2015 Assembly elections in Delhi, a total of 113360 votes were cast in the Moti Nagar constituency. Shiv Charan Goel of AAP won the seat, with a margin of 15221 votes.
