Swati Maliwal, the former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson who is also an AAP MP in the Rajya Sabha, lashed out at former outgoing Chief Minister Atishi after the latter celebrated her victory from the Kalkaji seat in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly Elections despite her party's humiliating defeat to the BJP.

Maliwal shared a video of Atishi's celebration on social media platform X, where the former CM can be seen dancing with her supporters after her electoral victory.

“What kind of shamelessness is this? The party lost, all the big leaders lost and Atishi Marlena is celebrating like this?" Maliwal asked on her post.

Atishi defeated Ramesh Bidhuri of the BJP by 3,521.

Atishi's victory was a rare feat among senior AAP leaders, most of whom were defeated from their constituencies. AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, his second-in-command Manish Sisodia, and Saurabh Bharadwaj lost from their respective seats of New Delhi, Jungpura, and Greater Kailash.

Maliwal has been a vocal critic of the AAP since she accused Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar of physically assaulting her at the former CM's residence.

In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections, Maliwal staged protests to highlight Delhi's civic issues and the poor quality of Yamuna's water.

Although she never advocated for any party, Maliwal's target was always Kejriwal and his government.

Sharing a picture of Draupadi's "cheer haran" from the Maharbharat, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal said the Aam Aadmi Party and its party chief Arvind Kejriwal's "arrogance" led to their loss in the Delhi assembly polls.

"Even Ravan's arrogance did not last," Maliwal, who fell out with the AAP last year, said in another post on X.

Maliwal's post on Draupadi's "cheer haran" or "stripping" from the Mahabharat is a reference to her allegations against Bibhav Kumar.
