'Chunav Mitra' and 'Cyber Sarthi', the two AI chatbots available in English and Hindi, were launched by Delhi Police to assist the personnel for effective management of the February 5 elections. The two chatbots are expected to help the personnel in the smooth and efficient execution of election-related duties, officials said.

The chatbot 'Chunav Mitra' is designed to quickly provide key instructions and guidelines, rules and directives issued by the Election Commission and Delhi. Designed as a vital tool for field officers, it provides immediate reference on a real time basis.

The 'Cyber Sarthi' focuses on providing robust cyber security guidelines, ensuring the safe use of digital platforms and tools by police personnel during their assignment, officials said adding, these tools "simplify complex instructions and provide practical support" to officers and personnel of all ranks, who are in need of quick and accurate information.

These are built using the extensive election-related data bank available online and accessible to all and delivers dynamic and accurate responses tailored to users’ needs.

Accessed easily through a dedicated link and QR code, by police personnel on the ground, officials said the tools were a forward-thinking initiative of Election Cell of Delhi Police and it underscores the force's commitment to harness technology for efficient, responsive, and lawful election management.

"It ensures that every officer, regardless of rank or assignment, is equipped with the technological aids and knowledge necessary to uphold the integrity of the election process," a senior official said.

Separately, police said, 504 cases of violation of the Model Code of Conduct have been registered between January 7, when the election schedule was announced, and Wednesday.

A statement said 17,879 people were arrested under various provisions, including the Excise Act, during this period. Delhi Police also confiscated 270 illegal firearms and 372 cartridges besides seizing 44,265 litres of liquor worth over Rs 1.3 crore, 110.53 kg of drugs worth around Rs 20 crore, and over 1,200 banned injections.
