If there is a single majority or a majority in a pre-poll alliance, they can stake the claim to form the government. Then, the leader of the single largest party, the majority alliance or the majority party is invited by the Governor for forming the government.
In the case of a hung assembly, with no absolute majority, the single-largest party is allowed to form a coalition with other parties to secure the majority.
The majority refers to 1+50 per cent of total seats.
