New Delhi: BJP president JP Nadda on Monday launched the party’s manifesto drive, the Sankalp Patra Abhiyaan, and said that the party will try to collect more than 1 crore suggestions from the public across 250 locations. Voters can also send in suggestions via a missed call on a number the party launched for the purpose.
Nadda also flagged off “Viksit Bharat: Modi ki Guarantee” Raths – video vans – which will collect these suggestions. He said that these vans will travel across all the Lok Sabha constituencies to “showcase the progress” achieved in the party’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative.
“We will ask for suggestions and will later on include all these suggestions in our ‘Sankalp Patra’. We will complete this by 15th March. The Yatra is aimed at attaining saturation of flagship schemes of the government by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner,” he said.
"Through these video vans, BJP has decided to apprise the people of the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the progress of the country and the work being done in this 'Amrit Kaal' to make India a developed country," Nadda said.
He said work for the preparation of the party's manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls is in progress.
The BJP has expressed confidence for retaining power under Modi's leadership for a third straight term and has set a target of winning 370 seats in the elections, expected in April-May, to the 543-member Lok Sabha.
