In Jharkhand, two of the six polls went to JMM-led I.N.D.I.A. bloc four others predicted the BJP-led alliance throwing the incumbent out.

Birua defeated BJP candidate Geeta Balmuchu by a margin of 64,835 votes. He polled a total of 1,07,367 votes.

Jharkhand: JMM wins Chandankiyari, LoP Amar Kumar Bauri at third spot

JMM candidate Umakant Rajak won the Chandankiyari seat in Jharkhand's Bokaro district on Saturday by a margin of 33,733 votes, according to the Election Commission.

Arjun Rajwar of the Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha was runner-up in the seat, while Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri of the BJP came third.

Rajak bagged 90,027 votes, while Rajwar secured 56,294 votes. Bauri managed 56,091 votes.

In the 2019 assembly polls, Bauri defeated Rajak, who contested the seat on an AJSU Party ticket.

Rajak switched to JMM ahead of this election after the Chandankiyari seat went to the BJP as per the seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA.

CPI(ML) Liberation's Chandradeo Mahato wins Sindri seat in Jharkhand

CPI(ML) Liberation's Chandradeo Mahato on Saturday won the Sindri assembly seat in Jharkhand, defeating BJP’s Tara Devi by a margin of 3,448 votes, the Election Commission said.

Mahato polled 1,05,136 votes while Devi secured 1,01,688.

Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) candidate Usha Devi secured third position with 42,664 votes.

JMM candidate Basant Soren, brother of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, defeats BJP's Sunil Soren in Dumka by 14,588 votes. Basant Soren had previously won the Dumka seat in a bypoll in 2020, defeating BJP's Lois Marandi by 6,842 votes.

Hemant Soren wins Barhait seat by 39,791 votes, defeats BJP's Gamliyel Hembrom: EC

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren retained the Barhait seat on Saturday, defeating BJP’s Gamliyel Hembrom by a margin of 39,791 votes, according to the Election Commission.

Soren secured 95,612 votes, while Hembrom got 55,821 votes.

The JMM leader increased his margin in the seat. In 2019, he had won the constituency by 25,740 votes.

Soren had to resign as the CM in January before being arrested by the ED in a money laundering case. He was released on bail by the high court in June, and in July, he returned as the chief minister of the state, replacing Champai Soren.

Kalpana Soren wins big, defeats BJP’s Muniya Devi by 17,142 votes

JMM legislator and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana won the Gandey seat by a margin of 17,142 votes, defeating BJP’s Muniya Devi.

Kalpana had won the seat in a bypoll on June 4, after it fell vacant following the resignation of JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmad.

She had defeated BJP’s Dilip Kumar Verma by 27,149 votes.

Kalpana had embarked on her political journey during the 51st foundation day celebration of JMM in Giridih district on March 4.

"My victory is the victory of the public of Dhanwar assembly constituency, I extend best wishes to the public. The public has given me the opportunity to work for the welfare of the public again," Marandi told the media.

Whenever they lose the elections, they blame the EVMs...I congratulate Hemant Soren on winning the Jharkhand Assembly elections and I accept the verdict of people. The results are unexpected and we will look into the reasons for our loss," he added.
