Bengaluru: For the academic year 2026-27, the admissions to Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy undergraduate programmes in the state will be through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Following a communication from the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professionals, the Karnataka State Allied and Healthcare Council has issued directions to all public universities, private state universities and deemed-to-be universities to admit students based on their NEET score.
"The category-wise criteria for Allied and Healthcare programmes have been notified and communicated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for adoption with effect from the academic year 2026-27," reads the circular.
It has been clearly notified that admissions to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) category 1, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) category 6 should be done through NEET.
