The proposed laws span critical areas including education, mining taxation, procurement transparency, and administrative reforms.

Emerging out of the meeting, Siddaramaiah told reporters that the President said that these bills were sent to concerned departments for opinion and further decision on giving assent will be taken later.

The CM said meeting with the President was cordial.

Among the significant legislations is The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2025, which proposes changes to the current RTE framework in the state.

The Karnataka (Mineral Rights and Mineral Bearing Land) Tax Bill, 2024 aims to boost state revenues by introducing new taxation mechanisms on mineral-rich lands, while the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (Amendment) Act 2025 is designed to bring greater accountability in government purchases.

The set of bills also includes The Registration (Karnataka Amendment) Bills of 2024 and 2025, as well as The Notaries (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2025, all of which are intended to streamline administrative protocols.

Additionally, the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment (Amendment) Bill, 2024 is part of the legislative package sent for presidential review.

These bills require the President’s assent under constitutional provisions that mandate central approval for laws involving concurrent or central subjects.
