A special court in Thiruvananthapuram awarded the sentence on Wednesday. The convict Jean Jackson was sentenced for six years each for three offences. He needs to undergo the sentences concurrently.

The incident pertaining to the case took place on Sept 5, 2019. The matron sexually abused the boy studying in class six and threatened him against revealing it to anyone. Another boy, who happened to witness it, was also threatened. Later some other students came across it and they informed the school authorities.  Subsequently the matron was booked.

Special public prosecutor R S Vijay Mohan said that the court recorded the statements of the two students with the help of interpreter. Though another teacher of the school stated before the court that the victim student told him that he gave false statement against the matron in the court, the prosecution could disprove it by examining the student.

The court maintained that the act of the hostel matron has no justification and hence he did not deserve any lenience.
