Karnataka, which is ruled by JDS-Congress coalition government is under severe stress over constant bickering between the allies and rumours are rife that the Lok Sabha 2019 results will have a huge impact if the Bharatiya Janata Party wins big.

Here are the top five high-stake Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka:

Tumkur: Former prime minister H D Devegowda after a lot of suspense picked the Tumkur after he left his bastion Hassan to his grandson Prajwal Revanna. He is contesting against BJP candidate G. S. Basavaraj. As per the most exit polls, its a 50-50 chance for both.

Mandya: Here, both the candidates Nikhil Kumaraswamy and Sumalatha Ambareesh, though are political greenhorns, but come with big political backing. The former is the son of the incumbent chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and the latter is the wife of popular late Kannada actor and Congress leader Ambareesh. Mandya constituency might very well decide the fate of Congress-JDS coalition.

Bengaluru South: It has been BJP bastion for last six Lok Sabha elections under the leadership Ananth Kumar, but due to his sudden demise in 2018, it had left a huge void. Speculations indicated BJP might give the ticket to Tejaswini Ananth Kumar. But in a surprise move, the party handed the responsibility to a political novice, but a firebrand youth leader-Tejaswi Surya. He is up against Congress candidate BK Hariprasad in Bengaluru South.

Gulbarga: Congress veteran Mallikarjun Kharge is eyeing for the record 11th successive wins, 9 assembly seats and one parliament seat. But, this time, odds are against Kharge, as BJP's candidate Dr. Umesh G Jadhav is expected to give a tough fight in Gulbarga, says exit polls.

Chikkballapur: Another Congress veteran M.Veerappa Moily is also facing a tough battle against BJP's B.N.Bache Gowda. Last election, the former won with a slim margin of around 10,000 votes. This time, exit polls have hinted the BJP might take the Chikkballapur.
