Hyderabad: A preliminary investigation into the double murder at Ranga Reddy district in Telangana on Tuesday suggests that the woman and her lover were killed by a person who was also allegedly in love with Bindu, a mother of three.
According to Narsingi police, Bindu, her husband, and their three children lived at Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad. Her husband filed an FIR stating that Bindu went missing on January 3, and he suspected that she left with Ankit Saket.
However, it is alleged that Bindu was also involved with another man, who is the prime suspect in the double murder.
On January 11, Saket called Bindu to Nanakramguda and she stayed in his friend's room.
The police confirmed that the following day they went to Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple in Puppalaguda.
The suspect allegedly followed them to the shrine and confronted Bindu. In a fit of rage, he attacked her with stones, killing her on the spot. Later, he stabbed Ankit with a knife. He then set their bodies on fire and fled, said the police.
Police also said that a missing person's complaint was filed against Ankit at the Gachibowli police station and for Bindu at the Vanasthalipuram police station.
The police are also looking into the possibility of other people being involved in the crime. Narsingi police formed three teams to nab the killer.
