At the audio launch of his upcoming film '99 Songs', A R Rahman went viral for trolling the anchor.

At the film's music launch on Friday, A R Rahman was present with the lead actor of the film, Ehan Bhatt. The anchor of the event introduced A R Rahman in Tamil and switched to Hindi while introducing the debutant actor.

At this, the composer asked the anchor, "Hindi?" and walked off stage. He then proceeded to ask the anchor, "Did I not ask you already if you speak Tamil or not?" The anchor replied that she spoke in Hindi to Ehan to make him feel comfortable. Rahman then laughed and said, "I was only joking." This elicited laughter from the audience.
