Ever since Good Bad Ugly received a roaring reception, fans of Ajith Kumar have been demanding a reunion with director Aadhik Ravichandran, and DH has learnt that the duo are reuniting for AK64.
Ajith Kumar has given a nod to Aadhik after the massive success of GBU, and the director was actively in talks with production houses to bankroll the ambitious action-packed project.
Initially, the mega budget project was set to be produced by Ishari K. Ganesh’s Vels Film International, but the project was passed due to the high production costs and the complexities of mounting such a large-scale project. After being pitched to several big banners with no success, the film has now finally found a banner.
The movie will now be backed by producer and distributor Raahul under the Romeo Pictures banner. An official announcement regarding the project is expected soon.
Rahul turns producer for this high-budget action thriller, which is expected to showcase Ajith in intense, adrenaline-pumping action sequences. Known to be an ardent Ajith Kumar fan, Raahul has earlier distributed his movies Thunivu (2023) and Valimai (2022).
After proving mettle in direction with hit movies Trisha Illana Nayanthara (2015), Mark Antony (2023) and Good Bad Ugly (2025), Aadhik Ravichandran carries the highest hopes of cinema lovers.
Aadhik is already working on the script work and is expected to deliver yet another mass entertainer. From electrifying visuals and stylish flair to punch-packed dialogues, the film is being shaped as another visual feast for Ajith Kumar fans.
A source close to the development says that the project will go on the floors by October 2025. Meanwhile, Ajith is busy competing in the European GT4 series expected to get over in September in September.
Good Bad Ugly emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Ajith Kumar's career and a standout success in Tamil cinema in its first half of 2025.
