The controversy involving Diljit Dosanjh has deepened further with media reports suggesting that the makers of Border 2 have abided by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees' (FWICE) request and have removed Diljit from their project. This move comes while the actor faces criticism for casting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his latest film, Sardaar Ji 3.

Produced by JP Films and T-Series, Border 2 is the sequel to the iconic 1997 war film directed by JP Dutta. Diljit Dosanjh joined the project in September last year and was set to star alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty.

However, some sources said that Diljit Dosanjh is very much part of Border 2, with half the film reportedly already shot and his casting was officially announced around nine months ago. But, TOI has reported that makers have replaced Diljit Dosanjh and have found a replacement in Ammy Virk.

The fallout has ignited significant buzz in the industry, with insiders suggesting that Diljit Dosanjh’s future projects could face difficulties amid the uproar. Even Diljit's dream project with Imtiaz Ali is likely to be put on hold due to the ongoing controversy.

On the other hand, Diljit remains committed to promoting Sardaar Ji 3. He was even seen visiting theatres in Toronto to see the response to his film.
