Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has emerged as the highest-tax-paying celebrity in Indian cinema, with a whopping Rs 120 crore tax payment in the financial year 2024-2025. The 82-year-old veteran’s contribution has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Rs 92 crore tax payment from the previous year.
While movies like Kalki 2898 AD and Vettaiyan earned him praise for his performance, Big B's substantial income came from the brand endorsements and his commitment as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16. Amitabh Bachchan also made a decent profit from his real estate investments, which further boosted his income.
“From doing some of the biggest feature films of Indian cinema to being the top pick for most of the brands, Amitabh Bachchan is an actor in demand even at the age of 82. He is also the most loved host on television with Kaun Banega Crorepati. The income from all these sources amounts to ₹350 crore, which is among the highest in the capacity of an individual in the film fraternity," a source told Pinkvilla.
“Big B is a role model for all Indians even today and often makes it a point to pay all taxes on time. Amitabh Bachchan is committed to signing on for exciting projects in 2025 and leaving a mark among all his fans," concluded the source.
On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in the courtroom drama Section 84. Big B will also be seen in the sequel to Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD.
