Popular reality TV show Bigg Boss Tamil 9, which premiered on October 5, opened to record-breaking success on JioCinema. The show lived up to its expectations and scripted history by emerging as a popular Tamil Nadu entertainment show.

Streaming exclusively on the platform, the premiere day episode recorded a whopping 7.8 crore minutes of cumulative watch time, alongside a 1.74x higher reach than the previous edition. Vijay Sethupathi returns as host for his second consecutive year, and the show opens to a strong start to its latest run on JioHotstar.

Meanwhile, the platform has made the viewing experience more interactive by introducing a 24/7 live chat feed and a dedicated Fanzone that keeps fans connected to every twist, turn and emotional moment in real time. For the first time in Tamil, the platform has also launched Meme the Moment, allowing viewers to create, share and react to standout moments, blending popular culture with real-time participation and bringing fans closer to the action than ever before.

Nearly half (47 per cent) of the opening watch time came from Connected TV devices, a metric that underscores the increasing demand from Tamil audiences for high-quality, immersive viewing on their largest home screens.
