Bollywood recalls Gandhi's golden words on his 146th birthday

 Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Shabana Azmi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and remembered his message of truth and peace on his 146th birth anniversary."Gandhi Jayanti! I never did see him except when his cortege passed by in Allahabad towards Sangam!," tweeted Amitabh Bachchan.

Azmi wrote, "'Be the change you want to see in the world' Mahatma Gandhi... He led by example as no other... Respect."

Making people aware of Mahatma's teaching filmmaker Shekhar Kapur asked people to follow him.

"We call him Mahatma and put him on a mantle piece. And comfortably separate ourselves from him. Rather than follow his example. #GandhiJayanti"

"Happy Gandhi Jayanti to the whole World," Anupam Kher wrote.

Paying tribute to the world leader, actor Anil Kapoor wrote, "Truth and peace... Let's make that the mantra for today and always... In honour of #Bapu on this #GandhiJayanti.
"Happy Gandhi jayanti... His wisdom lingers on," tweeted Anushka Sharma.

Music composer Vishal Dadlani reminded his followers about the message of non-violence on this occasion.

"Gandhi Jayanti. A day for India to remind itself that truth, courage and non-violence are stronger than empires of money and power. Jai Hind!"

Director Anubhav Sinha thanked Mahatma Gandhi on his birthday.

"Thanks for visiting the planet Sir. Been long.... Another visit?"
