"Spread humanity with a vengeance, go watch 'My Name Is Khan’...and for the record, my name is Hrithik Roshan,” he posted as his first Tweet.

The actor also plans to catch 'My Name Is Khan' himself today after he is done with the Shivratri celebrations.
Hrithik received a warm welcome from his close friends, filmmaker Karan Johar as well as actors Abhishek Bachchan and Genelia D'Souza on the social networking site.

“One of my closest friends and one of the finest actors I know is here! Hrithik Roshan...give him love Tweeple!” posted Johar, whose controversial film “My Name Is Khan” is finally releasing Friday.

Abhishek said: “Please welcome my dear friend to the chaos!"
And Genelia welcomed him saying, "Twitterverse".

The 36-year-old is awaiting the release of his much-hyped film “Kites”, which is being co-produced by his father Rakesh Roshan’s Filmkfraft and Reliance BIG Cinemas. It is set to hit screens May 21.

Shah Rukh is courting controversy for favouring Pakistani cricketers' inclusion in the Indian Premier League (IPL) - a stand which has cast a shadow over the release of his film "My Name Is Khan".

National award-winning actress Priyanka Chopra wrote, "I hope you all have plans to go out there and catch the film over the weekend in support of a great effort by Shah Rukh, Karan, Kajol and the cast and crew. We have to stand up to for what is right."

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who has been constantly tweeting about the issue in the past week, wrote, "The brand ambassador of Gujarat Shri Amitabh Bachchan must be asked to prevail upon Modi to step in urgently and get MNIK released in Guj! (sic)"

Actor Riteish Deshmukh wished good luck to Khan and director of the movie Karan Johar, writing, "good things happen to good people, actually great things will happen."

Johar, who is in Berlin for the screening of the film at the Berlin Film Festival, thanked all the well-wishers for the support.
"Am overwhelmed and moved to tears with all the support our labour of love is getting...thank you..thank you...your hand on our head makes us (sic)," he wrote.

Other Bollywood actors like Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan had also pledged their support to SRK after he came under attack by the Shiv Sena for backing the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the upcoming IPL.
"All that has been happening over the past few days is very unfortunate and sad! I believe that sports, arts and culture should be above politics," Abhishek had written on Twitter.

"My family and I have faced many such incidents in the past. And all I wish for is peace and harmony to prevail over all citizens," he added.
Salman Khan, who is said to be not on cordial terms with SRK, too defended him, saying he has not said anything which is wrong.
