Anthony Mackie plays Captain America.

One can take several quality ingredients and still end up making a bad dish, and that is exactly what ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ feels like.

Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as Captain America tries his best to fill in the shoes of Steve Rogers, but unfortunately falls short. Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) as the president of USA hopes to work together with Captain America, with the intention of reviving the Avengers, but the ghosts of his past come to haunt him.

The movie revolves around Adamantium and how Ross aims to work together with global powers to harness it, only for an evil genius (Samuel Sterns) to anticipate and thwart each move, aiming to get revenge for what Ross did to him.

What follows next is a series of predictable events, probably inspired by multiple other sources. As Sterns takes control over the minds of those around him, it is up to Captain America and Falcon (Danny Ramirez) to prevent a global war while ensuring the release of their friend Isaiah Bradley, who is facing trial for the attempted murder of Ross.

One thing we expect from the Marvel Universe is great VFX, but it feels like the movie was made in haste and no one really thought the audience would notice the details.

Overall, even the appearance of a red Hulk isn’t enough to save this, and it feels like this Captain America needs the Avengers to save him.
