Filmmaker Hemanth M Rao, on Wednesday, announced his next film 666 Operation Dream Theatre, starring Daali Dhananjaya and Shivarajkumar in lead roles. It was announced on the occasion of Shivarajkumar’s 40 years in cinema. The actor’s first film as the lead, Anand, hit theatres on June 18, 1986.

Dhananjaya and Shivarajkumar were last seen together in Tagaru and

Produced by Vaishak J Gowda, the film’s first look, an animated teaser was released.

Vaishak, who is a doctor by profession was earlier supposed to foray into the industry as a producer with the Shivarajkumar-starrer Bhairavana Kone Paata helmed by Hemanth, announced last year.

“Bhairavana Kone Paata is taking time, so I didn’t want to do a film with somebody else as I really wanted to work with Shivarajkumar. Having him in the film is an awesome feeling,” Hemanth told DH.

666 Operation Dream Theatre is a retro spy thriller, according to Hemanth. “I grew up watching a lot of James Bond films, Operation Diamond Racket… This movie is my attempt at something in that space,” he told DH.

We’re building a lot of sets, he said, also adding “We’re mounting the film on a big scale, and we’ll need about 90-100 days of shooting.” The film’s sets are being designed by art director Vishwas Kashyap. They’re yet to finalise the film’s female lead.

Hemanth will begin to shoot the film next month and the makers are planning for a release next year.

The Sapta Sagaradache Ello director will be collaborating with music composer Charan Raj again — for the fourth time. Advaita Gurumurthy will helm 666 Operation Dream Theatre’s cinematography.

Dhananjaya also has an interesting set of films lined up — Anna from Mexico directed by Shankar Guru of Badava Rascal fame, Jingo by Shashank Soghal of Daredevil Mustafa and the historical drama Halagali by Sukesh Nayak.
