Announcing the national launch of the TV programme on February 7 at 9 pm, Rajiv Bakshi, Vice-President (Marketing) of the Discovery Networks Asia Pacific, said here today that each of the new episodes would present Grylls with challenges in the wild.
"Man vs Wild is one of the most successful and well received programmes of the Discovery Channel. Grylls shows viewers how to survive the toughest environment by putting himself in the position of a stranded castaway and makes it live," Bakshi said.
In the new season, Grylls travels to remote locales including Australia's northern territory, Georgia's Caucasus Mountains, a deserted island south of Papua New Guinea, the snowfields of the Canadian Rockies among other areas sharing invaluable survival strategies.
In a special episode titled 'Fan vs Wild' Grylls takes two viewers along with him for first hand experience of survival in extreme conditions.
"Along the way, Grylls braves biting cold, walks desolate deserts and encounters dangerous predators," Bakshi said.
He also added that the channel had come to the region for the first time and they had decided to launch the programme 'Man vs Wild' from here
