Bloody and brutal, Eesa numbs your senses. Where subtlety mattered debutant director Bala Ganesh goes for hyperbole.

Instead of sensitively scripting the incidents that turn an anguished simple fisherman into an aggressive killer, Ganesh goes for blood and gore.

The film revolves around Sundalesan nee Kirukkan Eesan endowed with elephantine powers. He unleashes vengeance against village headman Thanga Malai Annachi and his henchmen.

Why does Eesan go on a killing spree in a Tuticorin salt quarry? He has his reasons, however flimsy they might be. His wife Selvi had been done to death.
Despite creditable performances, Eesa leaves you with a rather unpleasant feeling.
