Auction house Christie is assembling a museum-quality collection of Taylor's jewelry, fashion, accessories, decorative arts and memorabilia, which will be displayed on a three-month international tour beginning in September, reported People magazine.

The tour will culminate in New York in December with a 10-day exhibition taking up Christie's entire Rockefeller Center gallery, followed by four consecutive days of auctions.

A portion of proceeds from the tour and auction will be donated to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, which the film star, fashion icon, and humanitarian founded in 1993.

The exhibition will offer "a window into the world of a true icon, a rare woman who was at once an international film and fashion star, loving mother, successful businesswoman, and generous humanitarian," said Marc Porter, chairman and president of Christie's Americas.
