A film about Kannada writer and poet D V Gundappa will be released on May 23. Titled ‘Mankuthimmana Kagga’, the film follows what inspired DVG to write the kagga (poem). Mankuthimmana Kagga is widely regarded as a masterpiece in Kannada literature. It also known as Kannada’s ‘Bhagavad Gita’.
The film is directed by Raja Ravishankar and follows Gundappa’s childhood and his relationship with his maternal uncle. Actor Ramakrishna portrays DVG’s maternal uncle and teacher Thimmanna and Ranveer portrays young DVG.
