Television actor Gultesham continues to impress with his impeccable performances — and he’s doing it once again as the astute and strategic Deep Thakur in Doree 2, currently airing on Colors. As the central antagonist, Gultesham brings a gripping intensity to the family drama, portraying a man driven by power, pride, and deep-rooted loyalty to his mother.
Talking about same to Deccan Herald, Gultesham offered a deep insight into the character: “Deep is the kind of son every mother dreams of — loyal to the core, but also fiercely protective of what’s his. In this case, it’s the family business, which his mother has entrusted solely to him. Everyone else in the family, including his sister Rajnandani, is constantly scheming to take it from him — but Deep isn’t giving up control at any cost.”
Gultesham’s journey in television has been defined by strong, negative characters. He’s previously been seen in Rab Se Hai Dua on Zee TV as the menacing Ajaz Khan, and in Ishq Mein Marjawan – Suman Indori on Colors as Bittu. Another standout performance came in Sasu Maa Tune Meri Qadar Na Jani on Dangal, where he again played a powerful antagonist.
“I’ve done my share of intense roles — mostly negative — but each one has taught me something different. Deep Thakur is especially fun to play because the stakes are so high and the emotions are so raw,” adds Gultesham.
Beyond TV, Gultesham is trying his luck in music albums and movies. He has two songs releasing soon on Zee Music, with vocals by Altamash Faridi and Raj Barman. “These tracks are full of emotion and beautifully composed — I’m proud to be a part of them,” says Gultesham.
On the film front, he will soon be seen in Maruti: The Delivery Man on ZEE5. “This is one of my most meaningful projects. I play Maruti, a delivery boy who faces serious life-altering challenges — including being falsely accused in a criminal case. It’s based on true events, and it really sheds light on the unseen side of everyday delivery workers. This time, I’m playing a completely positive character, which is a refreshing change,” he adds.
Amid his busy work schedule, Gultesham has wrapped up a web series for ALTT, where he dons the police uniform as a tough and honest officer.
