The Indian Premier League 2025 opening ceremony kicked off at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, with an array of celebrities delivering an outstanding performance.

While the Baadshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan played the perfect host, singers like Shreya Ghosal and Karan Aujla enthralled the audience with foot-tapping numbers.

The glittering ceremony also saw a steamy performance from Bollywood diva Disha Patani. Besides, the opening ceremony also saw some cultural and traditional performances celebrating India’s rich culture.

The audience was in for a treat by back-to-back electrifying performances, but the major highlight of the ceremony turned out to be a dance-off between Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and star cricketer Virat Kohli.

In one of the segments, SRK ]invited Kohli on stage and danced with him on the popular number Jhoome Jo Pathaan from his movie Pathaan.

The audience went crazy seeing their icons shake a leg together, and the visuals of them dancing together are spreading across social media like wildfire. Shah Rukh Khan also danced with KKR's star player Rinku Singh to the song Lutt Putt Gaya from the movie Dunki.

The 18th Indian Premier League (IPL) kicked off at Kolkata's Eden Gardens with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders taking on perennial underachievers Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
