After finishing his portions, Jatin opened up about what it was really like on the set of Jailer 2. Talking exclusively to Deccan Herald, Jatin opened up about the incredible experience of working alongside a powerhouse ensemble that included not just Rajinikanth but also industry stalwarts like Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan and SJ Suryah.

“Working with a legend like Rajinikanth twice is a rare gift, and I owe a huge thanks to director Nelson Dilipkumar for believing in me and giving me an opportunity in Jailer 2," said the Sacred Games star.

"In the sequel, the stakes are much higher. I’m playing a key role, part of an elite and fearless clan that goes head-to-head with the superstar Rajinikanth. Mithun Chakraborty brings such a formidable presence to the set, and the rest of the team—SJ Suryah, Hakkim Shah and Vidya Balan—are just as intense. We’ve become a very tight, protective circle, and we’re ready to face whatever challenges come our way,” added Jatin.

Speaking about his stint in the Tamil film industry, Jatin admitted that he put in extra hours to learn the language. He said, “It wasn’t easy at all. I had to memorise all my dialogues, and weeks before going on set, I would write them out in Hindi or English to help me deliver them."

Talking about his role, he said, "I play a carefree guy in the family, but when Rajinikanth starts challenging us, my character steps up and takes him head on."

Talking about his co-workers, Jatin said, “Working with Vidya Balan was an amazing experience. I’ve been a huge fan of her work for years, and it was such a thrill to share the screen with her for the first time. She’s truly a wonderful person, and our time working together is a memory I’ll always hold dear. Even though I play her younger brother in Jailer 2, I’d love to play her love interest in the future,” concluded Jatin.

On the professional front, Jatin’s calendar is looking full these days. Apart from Jailer 2, Jatin has multiple projects hitting screens this summer: Momacu, helmed by Kuldeep Kunal, and the Suresh Triveni directorial Maa Behen, where he plays a crucial opposite Madhuri Dixit. Also, he will be seen in Na Jaane Kaun Aa Gaya, directed by Vikas Arora, and is also part of the Netflix original film Gandhaari. The latter, directed by Devashish Makhija, sees him sharing the screen with Taapsee Pannu in what promises to be a must-watch release.

About Jailer 2

A sequel to the blockbuster Jailer, the movie has become one of the most talked-about movies of 2026, and everyone is eager to see Rajinikanth stepping back into the shoes of the iconic Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026, with Anirudh back to deliver what will surely be another hit soundtrack. The cast is absolutely stacked—featuring names like Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty—but the real talk is about the cameos. Beyond the return of Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, rumours are swirling that Vijay Sethupathi and Shah Rukh Khan are set to make cameos, making it one of the biggest crossovers in Indian cinema.
