TV actress Muskaan Kataria, who wowed audiences with her powerful portrayal in Yeh Hai Chahatein, is all set to return to the small screen with a bang in Pyaar Ki Raahein. Taking on the role of the antagonist in the series, Muskaan returns to television after a seven-month hiatus, sharing her excitement and insights about the role and her experiences.
“I was really looking for something that would genuinely excite me. And when this role came my way, it felt like the wait was worth it. Sanjana — the character I’m playing — is smart, stylish, and plays her cards with a lot of precision. She doesn’t create drama by shouting; she creates it by being three steps ahead of everyone else. That’s the fun part,” said Muskaan.
Joining an ongoing show is not easy and can be tricky, but Muskaan seems to be taking it all in stride. “Of course, when you come into a show that's already running, you need to adjust quickly. People have already formed their bonds. But honestly, the entire team has been incredibly supportive. The director and the full direction team have been especially wonderful — very cooperative, understanding, and easy to work with. I find myself vibing more with the direction team than even my fellow actors, and honestly, I’m really enjoying that experience. The production team has also been extremely welcoming, making the whole environment on set feel positive and encouraging. I’ve slipped into the vibe pretty naturally,” added Muskaan.
Talking about her seven-month absence from the small screen, Muskaan said, “After Yeh Hai Chahatein, I was exploring a few films and OTT opportunities. I didn’t want to rush into another TV project just for the sake of it. I needed to give myself that space to grow, to try something different. I believe every actor should have phases where they step back and re-evaluate what truly excites them.”
Muskaan also admits that she is very choosy about the assignments she undertakes. “For me, it’s not about doing everything that comes my way. I want to do projects where I feel like, ‘Yes, this is something new I can offer to the audience.’ Regular visibility is great, but it’s even better when it’s for the right reasons. Pyaar Ki Raahein felt right at the right time — the character has depth, and the story has enough twists to keep everyone hooked.”
“There’s a lot more coming up with Sanjana’s track. I’m really looking forward to the audience seeing different shades of her. It’s going to be a rollercoaster — and I’m enjoying every bit of it,” concluded Muskaan.
