Love dose? Sure, but Urvashi Rautela has also been receiving quite a lot of hate dose on social media after her comments on the presence of a temple in her name have left netizens irked.
"There is already a temple in my name near Badrinath," the actress shared leaving anchor Siddharth Kannan visibly shocked during the interview.
When Siddharth Kannan asked if people at the temple touch her feet and take blessing, she replied: "it is a temple, ofcourse that is what people will do."
Shocked by her claim, Kannan asked a couple of times if the temple in Uttarakhand is dedicated to her, to which the actress responded by repeating the phrase: "Yes, an Urvashi temple is located there", a couple of times.
She shared her desire to have a similar temple in South India, since she has worked with Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Balakrishna. "I have been working in the South, there should be a temple there as well."
She went on to add that there is a temple in Delhi University as well, where people put garlands on her photographs along with flowers and prasad.
"People are taking blessings from you...," Kannan asked taken aback, before Rautela replied by saying that there are news articles to testify to prove her claims.
However, it took no time for the clip to get viral as social media users took it upon themselves to call the actress out for her claims.
"My respect for Rakhi Sawant 😂," wrote one user, while another said: "I'm from Delhi University....and we are educated ppl...we don't do that stuff," refuting the claims that people at the university worship her.
Many people called her delusional, while some even pittied the anchor.
Even members of the religious communities vehemently refuted her claim as Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal, a local priest and former Dharmadhikari of Badrinath Dham slammed her for being "completely misleading."
Meanwhile, Urvashi Rautela's PR team jumped in immediately for damage control as they accused people of not listening to her properly.
“Urvashi Rautela said that there is a temple in my name in Uttarakhand, not a temple of Urvashi Rautela. Now people do not even listen to things properly, just by hearing ‘Urvashi’ or ‘temple’ they have assumed that people worship Urvashi Rautela. Listen to this video properly and then speak," they posted on an Instagram story.
Threatening a legal action against those spreading misinformation, her team further confirmed that the actress is called Damdami Mai’, among Delhi University students, and there are news articles on this.
