Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath return home after farewell gig in Birmingham
Ozzy Osbourne and the original members of Black Sabbath wrapped up their legendary career with an unforgettable farewell concert in their hometown of Birmingham on Saturday.
The popular heavy metal band, known for shaping the genre, performed for the last time as the audience cheered and celebrated the moment.
76-year-old Osbourne took the center stage and kicked off the night with a solo set of five songs. But the true highlight came when he reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates — guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward — for the first time in 20 years.
Together, they performed some of their biggest hits, including War Pigs, NIB, Iron Man, and Paranoid, leaving fans electrified. Some fans had tears in their eyes as they felt emotional.
Osbourne thanked the crowd and ended the event with their most famous track, Paranoid. He was presented with a cake, and fireworks lit up the night sky.
The concert tickets were sold out in just 16 minutes, according to AFP, and fans worldwide flooded the internet with short recordings from the event.
Many praised the band’s energy, especially Osbourne, who rocked the stage despite his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
"Ozzy at 76 still rocked it! What a party for the Prince of Darkness!": A fan wrote on social media.
Black Sabbath’s influence on music is undeniable, having sold over record 75 million albums since their formation in 1968. Fans are calling the performance a grand and unforgettable tribute.
