The Parasakthi team, including Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan and music composer GV Prakash Kumar, arrived in the capital to join in the Pongal harvest festival celebrations. The stars were special guests at a vibrant Pongal celebration hosted by Union Minister L Murugan at his Delhi residence.
This Pongal celebration at L Murugan’s residence has evolved into a high-profile event in New Delhi, capturing headlines annually. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance, it became more than just a gathering.
Visuals of the Parasakthi team attending the Pongal event in traditional South Indian style are flooding social media. Their high-profile presence is seen as the ultimate push for their movie as it enters its first crucial week in theaters following its January 10 release.
After a powerful opening that saw collections soar past Rs 51 crore within two days, the film is all set for a monumental run. The long festive weekend is expected to provide a significant boost, likely resulting in extraordinary numbers across theaters nationwide.
Set against the backdrop of the 1965 Anti-Hindi imposition agitation that swept across Tamil Nadu. The film revolves around Chezhiyan, a principled and idealistic guy who becomes actively involved in the movement opposing the declaration of Hindi as an official language.
Backed by Aakash Baskaran under the banner Dawn Pictures, Parasakthi is directed by Sudha Kongara and stars Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa Murali, Sreeleela and others in key roles.
