Bollywood movie Chhava is making waves ever since its release, and in a unique celebration, the makers have organised a special screening of the Vicky Kaushal starrer for the politicians at the Parliament in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers, and MPs will grace the special screening on March 27, Thursday. Producer Dinesh Vijan, director Laxman Utekar and Vicky Kaushal are also expected to attend.
The special movie premiere is organised to pay homage to and celebrate the life of the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
This special screening is aimed at acknowledging and highlighting our nation’s rich heritage and celebrating the artistic achievements of the makers.
The guest list for the screening also includes some prominent politicians and personalities from the entertainment industry. Reportedly, the event will conclude with a post-dialogue between the policymakers and the creators of Chhava.
Time and again, PM Modi has advocated about India’s rich heritage and has talked about the Indian film fraternity and their invaluable contribution towards building a new and better India.
In December 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah graced the special screening of the film The Sabarmati Report at the Parliament auditorium in New Delhi.
Adapted from Marathi author Shivaji Sawant’s celebrated novel Chhaava, the film has sparked controversies on religion and caste dynamics and raised questions about Maharashtra’s identity ever since its release. The Vicky Kaushal starrer, currently in its sixth week, continues to dominate the box office and is racing towards Rs 800 crore, including an overseas collection of Rs 92 crore.
