Khalid Rahman’s film is a stark tale of a couple (Shine and Rajisha) whose bond is depicted with photo frames on the walls. Happy photographs give the impression that the marriage is all sugar, but the reality is different.

The 91-minute film on a rocky marriage is a psychological thriller with a good mix of black comedy. The complexity of the battle between right and wrong and the consequences of ethical assumptions keep ‘Love’ moving.

‘Love’, which explores stories of several people, must be appreciated for being shot during the pandemic, within the four walls of a house. Only the last sequence of the film is shot outdoors, that too on a marooned road.

The lead actors, Shine and Rajisha, are convincing. In other parts of the film, Shine is seen with supporting actors Sudhi Kopa and Gokulan, who don’t match the leads.

‘Love’ would have worked better as a short film. While the direction is satisfactory, the writing lacks strength with many scenes needlessly meandering.

The film makes you laugh a little and is sure to hurt you, but eventually, you are left with just some hazy afterthoughts.
